Anja Bamberg (b. 1978) is a German artist and art therapist from the Baltic Sea region. She holds a Master’s degree in Art, Design, and Therapy from the Ludwig Maximilians University and the Academy of Fine Art in Munich. For more than twenty years, she has balanced her career in art therapy with her own artistic practice, specializing in painting with a profound connection to the sea. Her large-format works, often using a limited color palette, are known for their strength and presence, reflecting her bold color choices and the luminous quality of oil paints on both canvas and paper. Anja Bamberg views the painting surface as an essential part of her artistic narrative, merging concept and material into a unified vision.
She has exhibited widely at prestigious venues such as Sikka, Firetti Contemporary, RAK Art, and Tashkeel, and has been selected for residencies including the Tashkeel First Solo Programme and the Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation Programme.
